NEW DELHI: As the Delhi gets covered in a thick blanket of fog, rail and air traffic has been delayed to the city. The minimum temperature today hit as low as 2.6 degree Celsius and air quality index to 450. This has impeded on the visibility in the city which has been recorded as low as zero meters today at 8.30 AM.
Due to this, 16 flights have been diverted and four cancelled from IGI airport on Monday, December 30, due to the dense fog. The runway visual range is between 50 meters and 175 meters, deeming the conditions unfavorable for air travel.

30 trains have been delayed, with the delay ranging from 2-7.5 hours, further impacting the connectivity of the city. Conditions are expected to prevail till Tuesday, December 31, with the weather department forecasting a rise in maximum temperature to around 16 degrees Celsius, but visibility levels are expected to remain the same for some time.
