THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Houses will be built for around 1.5 lakh people under LIFE project in this year, according to A C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Government.
Peringandoor Service Cooperative Bank constructed the house for Chembakathetil Ayisha. Moideen added that the government’s objective was to make houses for all. The work on 2,000 homes being constructed under the Care Home project in the State will be completed by August. Under this project, 500 houses are constructed in Thrissur.
“The cooperative sector has taken a huge responsibility in post-flood reconstruction. The mission is being completed with maximum speed and efficiency. The support of people, beyond caste and religion, is the catalyst for the post-flood reconstruction. We need to keep this unity intact,” said the minister.
The cooperative sector is planning to take over the work of 2,000 more houses, in addition to the already committed houses. This project has been included in the Life project.
LIFE project is an initiative undertaken by the Kerala government to make a significant change in the social and infrastructure sector of Kerala by ensuring decent and secure housing for all.
