NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has said that so far, 1.11 crore houses have been authorised under Pradhan MantriAwasYojana-Urban. Of these, 73 lakh are approved and over 43 lakh have already been delivered.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, said that the Ministry is dedicated to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide ‘Housing for All’ by 2022. Puri stressed that access to better housing had dynamic inter-linking impacts on the lives of women, their children, and the entire family. The Ministry said that the houses built or acquired under PMAY-U are in the name of the female member of the household or in joint name with the female’s name at first.
