BANGALORE: BMRCL is planning to provide Wi-Fi connectivity in both metro stations and trains if profits enlarge.

Commuters can utilize Wi-Fi service at Metro stations and trains soon as Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is likely to call tender for Wi-Fi services in two or three months.

Once six-car metro is launched, ridership will also increase and corporation will get higher profits then BMRCL will apply tender for the purpose. It will take up to two or three months, said UA Vasanth Rao, BMRCL spokesperson. Higher profits revenues mean the BMRCL can award a contract to top bidder for good quality services.

In 2013, free Wi-Fi connectivity was provided on Metro trains operating between MG Road and Baiyyappanahalli.
