LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued an order imposing a ban on the use of plastic in the state from July 15.
It is the second state after Maharashtra to enforce the plastic ban.
Earlier Maharashtra had enforced a plastic ban, and announced a sum of Rs 5000 will be fined for the first time for the first time, 10,000 for the second and 25,000 and a three month jail for the repeated offence.
“We have issued an order banning the use of plastic across the state from 15th July. Use of plastics products like, polythene bags, cups and glasses will be allowed. We should all work together to achieve this goal,” said Adityanath at an event in Barabanki district.
