NEW DELHI: A statement issued by the National Health Service(NHS) of United Kingdom, revealed that two of their staff showed allergic reactions after being injected with Pfizer Inc. BioNTech SE shot. This prompted the U.K. regulators to issue new guidelines which warn people to avoid the vaccine shot if they have any history of aggressive allergic reactions. The National Medical Director for NHS, Stephen Powis said that both the staff members were recovering well.
Britain is the first country to provide emergency authorization for vaccination of its citizens against Covid-19. The rollout of vaccine began on Tuesday and the same day two of the first vaccinated people showed allergic reactions to it. This might be a bad sign for the future of vaccination program.
