NEW DELHI: At the fourth Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit, held via video conferencing, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, elaborated on India’s vision, which involves developing skilled human resources and the steps that India has taken to mitigate climate change and move towards clean fuel consumption. The Summit on Health of Nations was based on the theme ‘A CEO’s Guide to investigating in the next decade of Global Growth’.
The purpose of the FII summit hosted by Saudi Arabia was to find solutions on how business and government can expand access to healthcare, train healthcare workers, remove regulatory barriers and encourage investment in advanced health technologies.
Dr Vardhan, in his address to the FII forum, described that India will roll out sustained and planned investment in public healthcare delivery system, with the aim of developing and strengthening health systems across a spectrum of care, to ensure that India meets challenges of current and future pandemics. He mentioned that India has rolled out a special economic and comprehensive package of Rs 2 million crore, which is equivalent to 10 per cent of India’s Gross Domestic Product under the Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, and in the health sector, the fund is targeted towards increasing investments in public health and health reforms to prepare India for future obstacles.
He assured the forum that India is speedily progressing in improving not only ease of doing business but also ease of living. He also mentioned the steps taken by India to mitigate climate change and move towards clean fuel consumption. He said, “Presently, a comprehensive eco-system from research and development to tech-entrepreneurship is being prepared in India.”
