CHANDIGARH: In order to provide prompt emergency traffic safety services, Haryana Police has integrated Traffic Helpline Number 1073 with Emergency Support System (ERSS) helpline 112. PK Agrawal, Director General of Police, Haryana, sharing the information, said that the decision was taken after assessment of already running integrated ambulance and fire services in Gurugram and Haryana.

According to the DGP, the 112 Emergency Road vehicles will respond to all traffic emergencies/situations on the highways with this facility. All calls to the 1073 traffic helpline will automatically be routed to ERSS 112. In addition, in a recent review meeting, AS Chawla, Haryana’s Assistant DGP and nodal officer for Haryana 112, was asked to look into the possibility of combining the traffic hotline number with ERSS 112.
