NEW DELHI: South Delhi Municipal Corporation, in its efforts to tackle the issues of Air Pollution, has collected Rs. 1, 12,900 as fine within two weeks from the people violating the directions given by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
106 challans were issued by the SDMC for various violations of NGT’s directions. Four challans were issued resulting in the collection of Rs. 82,900 related to pollution caused by constructions, four challans were issued for burning leaves and garbage resulting in a total fine of Rs. 10,000. For storing building materials on the road, 58 challans were issued resulting in the collection of Rs. 20, 000.
The corporation also issued 243 challans in concern with the Solid Waste Management amounting to Rs. 32,100.
