Russia’s COVID vaccine now available for use to the public

MOSCOW: The Ministry of Health of the Government of Russia said in a statement that the ‘Gam-COVID-Vac’ (Sputnik V) vaccine for the prevention of the coronavirus infection has passed necessary quality tests in the laboratories of Roszdravnadzor and has been released into civil circulation. The vaccine has been developed by the gamaleya National Research Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The vaccine was registered by the ministry on August 11. 

Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor, Moscow, said that he is hopeful that residents of the city of Moscow will be vaccinated against coronavirus in a matter of a few months. According to the health ministry, the delivery of the first batch of the Russian vaccine is scheduled to take place in the near future.
