Rescue and relief mission started as ‘Titli’ moves toward West Bengal

BHUBANESWAR: Cyclone ‘Titli’ that made a landfall two days ago at Gopalpur in Odisha has left a trail of destruction in the state and in the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. Rescue, and disaster relief missions have been started by the government. 14 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) & 26 teams of Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) have been deployed across 16 districts of the Odisha. The twister has snuffed out eight lives in Andhra and three in Odisha till now.
After creating havoc in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, ‘Titli’It has now moved toward West Bengal, with winds blowing at speed of 100 km/hr as it reaches Midnapore. There is heavy rains in the coastal area, leading to an alarming situation in many districts of West Bengal.
