CHANDIGARH: Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab, on Thursday, January 8, announced the state government’s initiative to provide free sanitary pads to high schools and college girls.
Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor to the Punjab CM, tweeted that the CM has announced free sanitary napkins to female students of high schools and colleges during the inauguration of a bunch of welfare projects which include the dedication of January month to the girl child through ‘Dheeiyan Di Lohri’ programme’. Thukral also tweeted about other initiatives launched by Punjab Government including ‘BASERA’ for slum dwellers, Smart Metering for power consumers, 2,500 cricket kits for young players, and E- Daakhil, a registration portal for legal matters for ease of consumers.
