LEH: Each and every household of the Phey village of Leh has now access to tap water supply in all seasons under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Motto of the Jal Jeevan Mission is ‘no one is left out’ and it aims to bring universal access to the potable tap water supply in India.
Talking to a media group ANI, a villager said that there used to be water scarcity in Phey village. He informed that because of the Jal Jeevan Mission, villagers and administration have dug up pipeline for water supply in the village. As of now, they are using solar power and electricity to lift and supply water in the trial phase, which has been working good so far. He mentioned that the villagers are now receiving tap water even in the winter season. According to the Jal Jeevan Mission dashboard, the Government of India has been working on the implementation of the scheme even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
