One Nation One Ration Card scheme launched in Odisha

BHUBANESHWAR: Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha, launched the One Nation One Ration Card scheme in the state on Thursday, July 30. The scheme will allow stakeholders to avail their food entitlements in India, irrespective of the location of registration of the ration card. In his virtual address, Patnaik said that under this scheme, over 93 lakh families and three crore people are being provided with food security by the state government. 

The main goal of the state government with these programs is to ensure that no one is deprived of food. Patnaik added that the state government has started several welfare schemes, especially in the field of education. The government is providing free clothes, books and other necessary items free-of-cost to the poor students. He added that the state government has also initiated employment generation programs to promote entrepreneurship along with food and education schemes. 

He also mentioned the Mission Shakti and the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation scheme that has been working towards the generation of employment for women. The chief minister also informed that the state government has launched a package for farmers, women and workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
