One billion Euros from Germany will boost Smart Cities development in India

BERLIN: India may get around one billion Euros from Germany till 2022 as part of its financial and technical assistance in the sector,  said India’s ambassador for the event Mukta Dutta Tomar while speaking at the Natcon 2018 Berlin, the annual conference of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (Credai).

German companies are looking for partners and are keen on investing in clean and green cities in India. She said, “This is where you can bring the best of Indian business sense and German technology together”.

In 2016, India and Germany agreed that sustainable urban development is a new priority area of bilateral cooperation. It is specifically beneficial for them who are real estate developers and are important stakeholders in helping develop sustainable solutions for the growing demands of urbanization.

Kochi, Coimbatore, and Bhubaneshwar are identified for bilateral collaboration by the Joint Working Group on Sustainable Urban Development.
