MUMBAI: 22 shabby buildings of Sukapur village adjacent to the Panvel municipal area of Mumbai have been asked to vacate it by giving notice. About 400 families are still living in these buildings, which have been ordered to vacate their Asia in this rainy season. This notice has been issued by Pali-Devad Gram Panchayat of Sukhapur area.

Despite being a village panchayat, it has become the center of residential societies due to the adjoining Panvel Municipal Corporation. In the last 7 years, the population of this region has increased to around 35 to 40 thousand. Residents of these buildings declared as shabby, have been warned that even if they do not vacate the building even after this notice, then the Gram Panchayat will not be responsible for any accident with them. From the people living in this area, the Gram Panchayat has said that the panchayat will raise the expenditure on the structural audit of these buildings. But people do not understand why they go suddenly along with their families and belongings in this rainy season. Let’s say that more than 350 buildings are in shambles in Navi Mumbai, out of which 58 are too shabby.

At the same time, the power supply of the Gurudatta Society of Nirmal Sector 6 was completely closed from Monday. CIDCO has declared this building as dangerous. Its water supply has already been stopped. Since the supply of power has been stopped, people’s nights are now going in the dark. According to the rules, when building the buildings, there should be a gap of 2,360 meters between two buildings, but only 100 meters of land was given to the society by CIDCO. According to the rule, 394 meters of land is falling.

During the meeting between the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and its residents here on Friday, CIDCO assured that all the demands of residents will be resolved by Monday. Society President Rajendra Bagal said that his demands were not accepted by Monday, and then residents from here will be on hunger strike in front of the CIDCO office from Wednesday. There are about 136 houses in this society, which consists of a large number of poor and common people.
