NOIDA and UPPCB address complaints on ‘Twitter’

NEW DELHI: New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) have started addressing residents’ complaints, related to pollution, received on Twitter.

Rajeev Tyagi, the general manager (projects) of NOIDA, said that he has been scanning tweets posted for the last two months and taking action accordingly. Now more and more complaints are coming through the platform. We try to answer as soon as possible and an officer at the level of Chief Engineer handles all the queries, he said. 

Anil Singh, Regional Officer, UPPCB also confirmed that Twitter complaints are now being considered official. He said that we get pollution related complaints on a daily basis and we try to address them as soon as possible.
