Nitin Gadkari inaugurates River Front Development Project in Haridwar

HARIDWAR: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways inaugurated Chandi Ghat River Front Development in Haridwar and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 5,894 crore on February 22, 2019. The projects include six newly constructed sewage treatment plants (STPs) along with 18 pumping stations across Uttarakhand under National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). 

The River Front Development Project is accomplished at cost of Rs 69.18 crore. Chandi Ghat in Uttarakhand is part of 36 other projects which have been completed and are open to the public. The STPs and Ghats are part of the 48 projects in the field of sewerage management, Ghats and Crematoria works, Riverfront development works, Afforestation, Bio-remediation, Rural sanitation and River surface cleaning works at the cost of Rs 1,354 crore which are being implemented. The Union Minister also announced rejuvenation plans for Banganga and Sonali Rivers under NMCG.
