NEW DELHI: National Green Tribunal (NGT) fined Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) Rs 5 lakh for the functioning of illegal dyeing units, on February 28, 2019.

The NGT order came while hearing a petition against alleged illegal activities of jeans and dyeing units that are operational in Bhim Colony, Aali Vihar and Sarita Vihar causing damage to the environment.

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) submitted the report on January 11, 2019 stating that the area is used for residential purposes.
