SIRSA: To help underprivileged women during these testing times, Nari Shakti Club, a NGO set up in Haryana’s Narnaul town is providing free sanitary napkins to women in slums and rural areas. The NGO claims that this is the first such initiative in the state. They had established a pad-bank in the town which was inaugurated a month ago by Sunita Duggal, Member of parliament, Sirsa. Nari Shakti Club also has held seminars to inform women about the importance of maintaining hygiene during this time as well.

In a move similar to this, HDFC bank has committed to support a programme called Stree Swabhiman, a program which caters to the sanitation needs and menstrual hygiene of over 25,000 women in rural India.
