AMRITSAR: NCC (Air wing) cadets of Amritsar’s DAV college organised a 4-day traffic awareness and management activity to improve the traffic congestions at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. The drive aimed at educating the drivers against the pick and drop facility in the circular and parking area of the airport. The initiative was incepted by the Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM). A total of 25 cadets participated in the drive which also saw them helping out the passengers in their commute.
Wing Commander Lalit Bhardwaj, Commanding Officer, 2PB AIR SQN, NCC, Amritsar, said, “The participation of NCC cadets in social programme was enshrined in the core value of NCC. Rajesh Kumar, principal, DAV College, was of the view that participation of cadets in outdoor activities enhanced the soft skills which was vital in the present-day professional world.” The cadets were honored for their service after the event by Manmohan Singh Brar, AVM president and Airport Advisory Committee member, Hardip Singh Chahal, senior vice-president, Col. Harjit Singh Grover, Gursharan Kaur Grover. The airport director also honored the cadets and the wing commander by issuing a certificate of voluntary service at the airport
