NEW DELHI: Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the Swachh Survekshan 2020 on June 6. The survey targets a sustainable on-ground performance of cities along with monitoring of service level performance in cleanliness. The league would be conducted in 3 quarters April – June, July – September and October – December 2019. A total of weightage of 2000 marks would be distributed evenly in these time frames. Cities would be ranked in two categories:

(i) Cities with population of one lakh and above

(ii) Cities with less than 1 lakh population

Every ULB which was established by December 31, 2018, is included in the survey.
