MUMBAI: Aaditya Thackrey, Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, said that monsoon tourism is all set to be developed in the Konkan region. The state government is looking to develop the state as cinema hub with a single vault of legendary films and scripts, added Thackrey. He also said that private participation is also important in this as the state government can only act as an enabler.
Thackrey said that the involvement of private sector despite the COVID-19 pandemic has been very encouraging. He added that the focus is on present and the tourists who are fully vaccinated as per the norms of central government are welcome in the state.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, is looking to boost the contribution of tourism sector in the state’s gross domestic product, as well as developing employment services in the state.
