MUMBAI: The Government of Maharashtra has launched ‘Shiv Bhojan’ scheme which will provide a wholesome meal at the pricing of just Rs 10 to those in need across the state. The scheme was inaugurated by Eknath Shinde, State Cabinet Minister, in the Thane based center of the scheme. The project has been launched as a ‘pilot’ and people can avail the scheme in three centers in Thane, two in Bhiwandi and one center each in Vashi and Mira Bhavander.
One single meal will include two chapatis, dal, rice, and vegetables and would be available for 100 people daily between 12 PM and 2 PM. The original cost of each meal would be Rs 50 out of which and will be available between 12 pm to 2 pm for 100 persons at the centres.
Each meal costing ₹50 will be subsidised by the government by ₹40.
