NEW DELHI: After the concerns of the new ‘Delta Plus’ variant in Maharashtra, new directives have come from the state announcements that lockdown can be re-imposed due to third wave of COVID-19. Aseem Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of State Relief and Rehabilitation, said that if COVID-19 caseload increase, the possibility of the lockdown cannot be denied.
The Maharashtra government is going ahead with its earlier five-level plan of unlock in the state. Rajesh Tope, Minister of Health, Government of Maharashtra, also confirmed that the unlock process will continue in the state.
Earlier, in a meeting by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey, it was discussed that during the third wave, the case load can increase up to 8 lakh in the state inlcuding 10 per cent children.
