NEW DELHI: The ongoing second wave of coronavirus pandemic in India is causing constant surge in new COVID-19 cases across the nation. There has been a steep rise of cases in India since the start of April 2021. While the health systems of few cities are reaching their threshold, health experts continue reiterating the importance of following COVID-19 guidelines very strictly.

The positivity rate of cases has reached over 36 per cent in the National Capital Region, where earlier this week, multiple labs were forced to stop their collection of RT-PCR or antigen test samples, due to the overburden of demand and shortage in manpower. Even though, the guidelines issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research mandates the data of results of COVID-19 tests to be uploaded within 24 hours, maximum private labs in the national capital have been failing to provide results even within 48 hours of collecting the swab samples.

According to multiple reports, home calls for COVID-19 tests have increase by about 4-5 times in majority of the labs. Moreover, many labs have now stopped the facility of collecting swab samples from home due to exceeding requests and shortage of manpower in the city.

Here are some of the labs in Delhi, which continue to offer home sample collection facilities for COVID-19 testing. Although, people in business, and medical officers are highly recommending people to visit a centre if they can manage for swab testing to get their result faster.
