KOLHAPUR: On Saturday, October 2, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) commenced its campaign for a garbage-free city and made an addition of 65 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) auto-tippers to the existing 140 auto-tippers with an aim of making city garbage-free and commemorating Gandhi Jayanti.
These cleanliness drives will be targeting various locations within the city. Besides the new CNG auto tippers, a mobile toilet facility using a KMT bus has also been inaugurated by KMC. Dr Kadambari Balkawade, Administrator, KMC said that a massive campaign has been carried out to free the city of garbage. Moreover, a door-to-door survey is being conducted to control and to curb the spread of dengue.
