AHMEDABAD: In a meeting between Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat and Manoj Kohli, executive chairman, SB Energy, it was announced that SB Energy, a Japanese company, will invest Rs 30,000 crore in the renewable energy sector in Gujarat.
According to the statement released on December 7, the investment will be in solar energy, wind energy and other unconventional renewable energy sources. At present, renewable energy in Gujarat is 8,885 MW and the state government aims to ramp it up to 30,000 MW by 2022.
“Of 30,000 MW, 20,000 MW will be used in the state while the rest 10,000 MW will be given to other states,” the release said.
