Initial dry run of COVID vaccination drive held at six places in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: The initial phase of the dry run of the COVID-19 vaccination drive drill was held in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, January 2.

The drive was conducted at King George’s Medical University; Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences; Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences; and Sahara Hospital and Community Health Centres in Lucknow.  The process of vaccination at these places was assessed and monitored to evaluate the degree of preparedness, and the revelations will be shared with other districts.

The subsequent and last phase of dry run will be conducted on Tuesday, January 5, at 450 places across the state. Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of Heath, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said that on Tuesday, January 5, similar dry runs will be conducted in six places in each of the 75 districts. These places include three urban and three rural areas.

The person who is to be vaccinated will need to go to the vaccination centres with proper identity proof. After the person is vaccinated, s/he will have to rest at the centre for approximately 30 minutes. Nearly 4.5 crore syringes for the vaccination drive have reached the state, and another 1.5 crore will be provided later.
