India reports largest single-day spike on May 4

NEW DELHI: Setting an alarm for the health officials, India reported almost 3900 corona positive cases in the last twenty-four hours. The number of deaths in the same period was reported at 195. This is the highest single-day spike till now in terms of both.  This takes the total number of cases to 46,433 as of now. Over 12,726 have recovered, while 32,138 are active cases. The death toll has also gone up to 1568.

Maharashtra alone has marked 583 corona related deaths and the total number of infected persons stands at 14,541 now.  

Tamil Nadu saw a record spike as the number of cases reported on May 4, with 527 new cases. Gujarat reported 376 fresh cases, taking the total count for the state to 5,804. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, West Bengal also reported the highest surge in the number of positive cases detected on a single day on May 4. 

Yesterday, only health ministry had claimed that it sees the curve flattening and the peak of the virus infections may never come. The fact is that in the first four days of the month of May, more than ten thousand cases have been reported.
