NEW DELHI: India marks biggest ever single day jump with 15,968 Covid-19 cases and 465 fatalities in 24 hours. According to Union Health Ministry’s data, this taken the total number of coronavirus cases in India to 4,56,183 and the death toll to 14,476.
For the fifth day in row, India has recorded over 14,000 cases a surge of 2,65,648 infections from June 1 till June 24, with maximum no. of cases from Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
The number of active cases remains at 1,83,022, while 2,58,684 people have recovered, and one patient has migrated and thus the recovery rate has gone up to 56.71%.
According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), till June 23, a total of 73,52,911 samples have been tested, with 2,15,195 samples being tested on Tuesday.
