NEW DELHI: India has carried out the second highest number of tests in the world for the detection of COVID-19 infections, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, MoHFW, said in a press conference that despite of the high number of tests conducted in India, the number of positive cases is reducing and it has come down to 7.18 per cent. He also added that more than 11.96 crore coronavirus tests have been conducted till date. And if last two weeks’ figures are taken in account, India is testing more than any other country in the world. Bhushan also said recoveries in India have crossed 79 lakh, which is highest in the world.
