HC orders to clean Ganga ghats every three hours

NAINITAL: The High Court of Uttarakhand has directed that the ghats of river Ganga should be cleaned every three hours. It ordered municipal corporation of Haridwar and the district administration to ensure this task.

The High Court division bench of chief justice of high court of Uttarakhand Rajiv Sharma and justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari issued these directions after noticing a report submitted by the court commissioner Chetan Joshi and Nikhil Singhal. It mentioned that the drains near Chotiwala restaurant, Kush Ghat, Gau Ghat, and other locations were still dirty. It stated that various ghats in Haridwar are clean but still polythene waste is found in these locations.
