Goa High Court seeks status report on Smart City projects

PANAJI: In a significant move concerning the urban infrastructure development in Goa, the Goa High Court has intervened and asked for the status report on the implementation of the Smart City projects. The court has underscored the importance of timeliness and transparency in the execution of such urban development initiatives.

Smart City Mission is a flagship scheme of the Government of India introduced to speed up the infrastructure development of the cities, ultimately turning them into technologically advanced urban centres.

After the court’s intervention, the government agencies, municipal bodies, and private contractors have to inform the court regarding the detailed timeline of the execution and the deadline for each of the phases of the Smart City works.
