NEW DELHI: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has picked Vodafone Idea (Vi) as its smart city partner under Guwahati Smart City initiative. Under this partnership, GMC will attempt to provide Vi’s intelligent mobility solutions to Guwahati Municipal Swacch Bharat workers.
Vi mobility sim cards will be provided to the workers. These sims are geo-tagged and geo-fenced, which will enable the Corporation to monitor the field staff operations via a real-time dashboard. This partnership was officially launched in Guwahati by Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister, Assam, on Monday, August 16. The collaboration is a part of System Integration efforts being undertaken by the pan-city project division of Guwahati Smart City plan, a GMC official informed.
Abhijit Kishore, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Vodafone Idea Limited said, “Our association with GMC Smart City programme is an example of the intelligent technology we bring to the table and we are delighted to be chosen as a partner to GMC’s Smart City programme project.”
