THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fit India Freedom Run will be conducted in Kerala between September 30 and October 2, to ensure physical fitness of students. This programme is organised by Sports Authority of India (SAI) to sensitise people regarding the importance of physical activity in their day to day lives, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
In Kerala, the campaign is organised by SAI-Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), in association with the Kerala Olympic Association and the Council of CBSE Schools, Kerala (CCSK). Under this, the students are to run or walk around 2 kms daily from September 30 to October 2. The students, under the guidance of the concerned schools, will track the cumulative time of the physical activity and will have to upload the same on the Fit India Portal. Certificates of participation will also be given via the portal.
Indira Rajan, Chief Patron, CCSK, said that this two-month long project has benefited the students and trainers equally due to its approach and proper methodology followed while implementation of the programme.
Rajan said that the timing of this campaign is perfect as it happened just as the earlier programme of “Stay Fit” has ended which will make the students and other participants prepared, physically and mentally.
