NEW DELHI: Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal launched the doorstep delivery scheme yesterday, telephone operators answered a total of 1200 calls by the evening. First day 369 appointments were fixed and six mobile sahayaks collected total seven documents.
Through the day CM monitored the scheme and ordered the increase in number of telephone operators from 40 to 80 from today. The government official said that in view of large number of calls the number of dedicated phone lines will increase from 50 to 120 from Tuesday.
CM said that 30 more services will be added to the scheme in the next month and the number will reach 100 within in the next couple of months.
Applicants can dial 1076 between 8 am and 10 pm to fix an appointment with a mobile sahayak, who will reach home to collect documents, help in filling forms and payment of fees. He will then submit the documents at the concerned government offices, which would post the issued certificate or license.
