NEW DELHI: “Doorstep delivery of service” will be rolled out from September 10, 2018, in Delhi announced CM Arvind Kejriwal on 31 August. According to officials, 40 services including caste and income certificates, learners’ and permanent driving license, marriage certificates, ration cards, transfer of ownership of a vehicle, old age and handicap pension scheme, and new water and sewer connections will be provided.
He called it a revolution in governance, big blow to corruption and super convenience for people.
Senior government official said that VFS Global, one of the biggest visa and passport service providers in the world, will run this service in city. He said that the company has set up call centre and appointed ‘mobile sahayaks’. Upon getting a request, they will go to households, pick up documents, take a photo, and collect biometric details to process applications, with an additional fee of Rs 50. The prepared documents will be sent to the applicant through speed post. The services will be available from 9 am to 9 pm on all weekdays.
