NEW DELHI: In a bid to curb air pollution caused by bursting of crackers during Diwali, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, has announced the celebration of “Community Diwali”, a public event to be held in the inner circle at Connaught Place (CP). The area would be pedestrianised during the celebration, which is scheduled to be organised from 6 PM to 10 PM between October 26 to 29 in the Central Park.

The CM announced in a press conference that all the buildings in CP will have special lighting effects (laser) on. Also, the area would host cultural performances, along with food and local handicraft shopping stalls.

The principal objective of the laser show would be to tell stories through the lightings and music effects. No passes or tickets would be required to attend the event.
