Delhi Metro Network to expand with two new lines

NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi-led government held the final cabinet meeting of its second term where they approved the development of two new Delhi Metro corridors. The two new metro line will connect Lajpat Nagar, to G Block in Saket and Inderlok to Indraprastha at a project cost of Rs 8,399 crore.

The two lines – Inderlok-indraprastha will comprise of 12 kms rail line and Lajpat Nagar- Saket by 8 kms rail line, which will be ready for public use by March 2026.The ‘Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor’ will be an extension of the Green Line and will provide interchange with the Red, Yellow, Airport Line, Magenta, Violet and Blue Lines, while the ‘Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor’ will connect the Golden, Magenta, Pink and Violet Lines. The project cost will be sourced by the central government of India and international funding agencies.
