NEW DELHI: The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) launched a campaign for rainwater harvesting in view of the difference in the water demand and supply in Delhi, at a meeting held with 42 zonal officers. Raghav Chadha, Vice Chairman, DJB, said that the city’s residents will have access to water 24X7 through the project of rainwater harvesting. The campaign comes as an attempt to deal with water crisis in Delhi-NCR.

Raghav said that he would like New Delhi to reach such a stage where its residents can flaunt their water harvesting structures. The aim of the campaign named ‘30 Days. 200 Structures’ is to encourage people to build systems/structures of rainwater harvesting in hospitals, educational institutes, large residential apartments, shopping malls, etc. The DJB has entrusted 42 zonal officers to lead the initiative in their respective areas and bring individuals and institutions around for the campaign.
