NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to protect two public parks in the vicinity of Jama Masjid area in Old Delhi from encroachment and take possession of the parks in accordance with the law.
High Court bench of acting Chief Justice Mini Pushkarna observed, “We are not living in a country where the rule of law is not followed. The rule of law must be followed. We are in the 21st century. Every day we are asking for preservation of parks.”
Remarks of the court came while hearing a plea filed by Mohd Arslan highlighting illegal encroachment of public parks in the Jama Masjid area.
