BEIJING: Sinovac Biotech Ltd has said that the coronavirus vaccine that they are administering is safe and capable to elicit immune response from human trials. The vaccine, CoronaVac, in its testing, has not caused any severe side effects and over 90 per cent of the people who have been administered a shot have induced neutralising antibodies in two weeks, the company said in a press release.

In their trials, 743 people between 18 to 59 received shots on two schedules. The overall results are soon to be shared in academic journals, a company’s spokesperson said. Further, a 28-day trial is scheduled by the company to uncover more about the efficiency of the shot.
