CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. has introduced new features in its mobile application to make it more user friendly. The new updates include real time information on train arrivals across all stations in the city. The passengers can use this app to recharge their smart cards or file any complaint regarding the services.
“Earlier the app only provided information about the daily train timetable, but now the app will provide real train timings, including delays, which can be used by passengers to plan their trips,” said a metro rail official.
The application was introduced back in May 2017 but it didn’t offer much to the commuters.
Passengers can recharge their smart cards up to Rs 1000 using app but they have to swipe their card at the ticket vending machine for the top up.

“The app will also provide information about the various feeder services around metro station, including bus, cabs etc. with their locations,” said an official.
