CHAMBA: The reservoir of Chamera hydroelectric project (Stage-I) popularly known as Chamera lake can be a must-see destination for tourists visiting the famous Dalhousie-Chamba tourist circuit.
Eco-friendly efforts would be made with people’s participation to develop Chamera lake for water sports and adventure tourism so that the lake could emerge as a model tourist spot.
Harikesh Meena, Deputy Commissioner addressed a meeting of district-level water sports committee in Chamba. He said that an action plan would be prepared to set up a houseboat, besides promoting other water sports activities and adventure tourism.
Rafting and boating would be introduced in the River Ravi to attract tourists who are fond of adventure sports.
Meena further said that the local youth would be imparted training in courses related to water sports and adventure tourism so that they could earn their livelihood. Mountain biking would also be introduced around Dalhousie-Khajjiar hills.
