SRINAGAR: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed the Kumdok bridge on the Leh-Loma road in the eastern sector of Ladakh. The bridge connects Leh with important towns, such as Chumathang, Hanle, Loma and the Tso Morari lake, which is a famous tourist destination.
The 111 Road Construction Company (RCC) of 16 Border Road Task Force (BRTF) under Project Himank led by Brig Nitin K Sharma, chief engineer, has launched the 45-m class 70-tonne steel structure across the Kumdok nullah.
A BRO statement said that the bridge will facilitate smooth movement of various military and civilian vehicles on this important axis.
