BMC to impose 10 per cent cut in water supply

MUMBAI: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that the water supply in Mumbai would be cut by 10 per cent from December 7 to 13. The BMC has sighted the repair work as the reason behind the cut. Recently, the breaches in the pneumatic gate system at the water treatment plant at Pise Pumping Station had been compromised and repair work to reinforce them in order. During the repair, pressure of the water supply would get reduced. The civic body has requested the citizens of Mumbai to store water at their residences prior to the cut to be used in case of emergencies. The BMC has planned the cut earlier for December 3 to 9 but pushed it back.
