BMC mandates 14 day home quarantine for all arriving in Mumbai

MUMBAI: As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in the city of Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that all passengers arriving in Mumbai, via air, rail, road or water, will have to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine. Government official who wish to be exempted from the home quarantine need to file a request application along with their work details, two days prior to their arrival.

The decision comes after a dispute between Mumbai and Bihar Police took place over a Bihar Police official investigating a criminal case in Mumbai was asked to stay in home quarantine for six days after his arrival in the city.
