BMC charges entities flouting COVID-19 norms

BHOPAL: Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to fine people and businesses heftily for not adhering to the COVID-19 appropriate behavior. In the last week alone, the civic body has imposed 200 spot fines per day in the week.

Moreover, around 1300 people have been penalized in the last five days and BMC has procured an amount of Rs 2 lakh in this process. Besides this, BMC is constantly making efforts so that people adhere to the COVID-19 protocols. BMC health staff has been vigilant and stringent in taking action on those who do not adhere to the norms in their respective zone areas. Moreover, BMC has its teams across all 19 zones and 85 wards.
