Amma canteens and drinking water projects unveiled in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Edappadi K Palaniswami, Chief Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu, laid the foundation stone for various projects on Wednesday, November 4. These projects will be implemented at a total cost of Rs 324 crore. He also inaugurated several projects which were implemented recently, at a total cost of Rs 294.15 crore.

Palaniswami also gave a green signal to mobile Amma canteens that will visit parts of Greater Chennai Corporation and will cater to the needs of daily wage earners and labourers. He also laidthe foundation stone for an integrated drinking water project, via video conferencing, in Theni district with an implementation cost of Rs162.43 crore. This will be beneficial for over 250 rural regions in Andipatti, Kadamalaikundu and Mayiladumparai areas, and Theni district.

Palaniswami also inaugurated a 35,000-litre oxygen tank, build at a cost of Rs 1.14 crore, to ensure oxygensupply to patients at Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, Salem. He laid the foundation stone for various projects implemented by Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) across the state with a cost of Rs 161.57 crore. He also inaugurated projects completed by TWAD board, Municipal Administrations and the Greater Chennai Corporation, with a cost of Rs 294.15 crore.
